All the backstories you never knew you needed.

This book is a must read if you like: Cozy fantasy, established character backstories, baking, Travis Baldree.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed going back to the world of Legends and Lattes. From the first story where we got to meet Zyll before Brigands and Breadknives I was hooked.

I am a big fan of short stories so I really enjoyed this book.

I appreciated the depth of the stories, regardless of the short form. On the surface it was fun to see the characters again, but each story had so much more depth.

I’m not sure how you can write a story about the effects of AI on art set in a fantasy word that has very basic technology (think horse and carts, cook fires, and candles), but Baldree does it masterfully.

From murder, to the oppressed baker, to competition…I loved every second.

This book was a delicious meal of short appetizers wrapped in a warm hug.
