One of my favorite books from my childhood, with a great new audiobook adaptation.

This book is a must read if you like: Classic Fairytales, short Middle Grade books, redemption stories, fun characters.

My Thoughts

This book has lived rent free in my head since I was a little kid for one reason…potatoes.

This is a fun escaped of how two unlikely boys go from enemies to friends.

I enjoyed rereading these after about 20 years and the narration in this version was really engaging.

One of my favorite parts of the story when Prince Brat was offered potatoes for the first time. The descriptions of kids eating boiled potatoes with their hands was so vivid for me as a kid I still think about it to this day.

The boys are joined by a cast of engaging and fun characters that it was fun to spend time with again.

I highly recommend this book for all the kids in your life (and you too!). It’s a quick 2 hour read so why not?
